I stumble across this tweet this morning and I have this thought of “why do some thinks people ignores introverts?” Not at all! So I can’t reply and burst out my rant in a limited characters alone so I decided it’s a worth of a blog post!
OK I admit I am and still an introvert, I was a kind of person who don’t want to talk, I don’t want to be with people, I was already happy just coding on my desk and just write everything down on email than talking. Thanks to Technology life was easy!
But I came to the point that it was already so boring and not exciting so I started reading different books such as “The Road Less Traveled” and “Quiet” it made me change my life’s goal.
So back to that twitter screenshot, Why you say event organizers ignores you? These extroverts who came and enjoyed and they also try hard to reach out to other people. They also felt embarrassed when they say something stupid or they also felt that some people don’t like to talk to them and they just ignore it! They also maltreated with some arrogant people. So why can’t you also try?
if you don’t like meeting other people then just sit down, wait for the event to start, listen to speakers, ask questions during Q&A, eat if there is food prepared, be happy when there’s awesome hampers gave to you and after that you can go home. SIMPLE!
I know how hard and lot of work to organised events and conference so stop moaning and feel special when you have the options to get involve or not!
Tech Conferences/events I know it is dominated with introvert people so what can organizers do? eliminate introverts, sales people and managers? avoid social activities? Bullshit. Or should we suggest tech event as cosplay event?
Disclaimer: I am not referring to all introverts, I am referring to those kind of people who think like that – that tweet.
